EAI TR-20
The Electronic Associated TR-20 was created in 1963 as a replacement of the TR-10. The TR-20 is an all-transistorized desk top analog computer that puts computation at the engineer’s fingertips. It is compact in its size for its time with capabilities or larger computing systems. It offers up to 20 amplifiers plus components for addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, integration and generation of powers, roots, logs, antilogs, sine, cosine and arbitrary functions—in one cabinet, and available to one patch panel.
The TR-20 was useful in solving problems in diverse areas including servo-system design, heat flow, chemical reaction analyses, suspension system studies, and many other problems involving dynamic conditions. It has a rugged and transistorized design of 15” x 16” x 27” and weighs 102 pounds. It has up to 20 amplifiers, all programmable, as well as a wide selection of interchangeable, non-linear, solid-state computing components. Also, the TR-20 has a simple adjustment of variable diode-function generators, high-speed repetitive operation display, low-power guarded circuits, and an inclined control panel. It was used for military, nuclear, petroleum, research, and textile.
